Kim wins 30th World Cup lead event gold…most in history
South Korean sport climbing ‘rock queen’ Kim Jain has won her 30th career gold medal in lead at the International Federation of Sport Climbing World Cup, making her the most decorated lead athlete of all time.
Kim won gold in the women’s lead final of the event in Chamonix, France, with a convincing victory over Japan’s Nonoha Kume.
Kim, who tasted victory on the World Cup stage for the first time in four years after the Inzai World Cup in Japan in October 2019, has now won 30 gold medals, the most in a single event in the World Cup series for both men and women.
