“To be honest, I think it’s hurting foreign players.”
Ulsan Hyundai Mobis Gage Primm (25, 206 cm) played 32 minutes and 3 seconds in the second round of the 2024-2025 KCC Pro Basketball Regular Season against Goyang Sono at Goyang Sono Arena on Wednesday. “I try to play basketball naturally and not force it. I have great teammates, and I play basketball with the idea of saving my teammates, so I think my calm play comes out.”
In his early days in the KBL, Prim’s competitive nature often got the best of him. “After playing in the KBL for three years, I got used to it. I’ve gotten used to it after playing in the KBL for three years,” he reflects.
This season’s officiating changes are a hot topic. How does Prim see it?
“To be honest, I think it hurts foreign players. They are held to a different standard than domestic players. For example, if a foreign player fouls a domestic player, it’s called, but if a domestic player fouls a foreign player, it’s not called,” he explained.
The Hyundai Mobis have a strong one-option foreign player. It’s Shawn Long.
“I’m not too worried about playing time,” said Prim. If he’s in good shape, he’ll play. We support each other. It’s not a selfish relationship where we give each other a lot of advice. I’m used to playing with Kebe Alouma because we’ve done well together.”
“I believe in the team 100%. It’s important to keep the energy level high without any ups and downs, and if we can do that, I think it’s 100% possible,” he concluded.
