Why Kim Wan-soo says he’s “grateful” for the defeat

Shooter Kang Isul, who was expected to miss the Park Shinjah Cup, will be ready to play. There was a reason why coach Kim Wan-soo said “thank you” regardless of the result.

Cheongju KB Stars lost 64-74 to Toyota Antelopes in their Group A matchup at the 2024 Woori Bank Park Shinjha Cup at Asan Yi Sunshin Gymnasium on Nov. 31. Lee Hye-ju (23 points) had a breakout performance with a 100 percent two-point shooting percentage (10-of-10), but the team struggled from three-point range (2-of-16) and 파워볼사이트 추천 was unable to turn the game around.

Coach Kim Wan-soo said after the game, “I’m grateful for the hard work of everyone, from the young players to Yoon-ah (Yeom), who has a nagging injury. It was a positive performance considering it’s only been three weeks since we’ve been playing together in five-on-five training. “Of course, it’s important to have a good framework for both offense and defense. It’s hard to say right away, but I think our performance will gradually improve, and I think the team’s color will come out before the season starts.”

KB Stars saw Heo Ye-eun, who recently returned from her national team commitments, play 24 minutes and eight seconds in the first game of the group stage, but Kang Yi-seul was left out of the roster. This was due to a significant decline in her physical condition and the team needed to rest her for the time being to protect her. Coach Kim Wan-soo revealed his plan to “not play (Kang) Yi-seul” just before the start of the Park Shinja Cup, and Kang actually watched the match against Toyota from the bench.

The way the juniors, led by Lee Hye-ju, relentlessly pursued Toyota moved Kang’s heart, and she reportedly told coach Kim Wan-soo that she would be ready to play. It remains to be seen when she will start playing, but it was a big encouragement for Kim Wan-soo.

“I’m grateful to the seniors, including (Yoon) Yoon-ah, (Kim) Sodam, and (Kang) Yi-seul. Especially Lee Seul-yi, who said she would play even though she was not feeling well. Yoon-ah also said she wanted to try to synchronize (breathing together),” he said.

The KB Stars are forced to change their team color after Park Ji-soo left the team. As their height has become a weakness, coach Kim Wan-soo plans to use their mobility to win the game. “It’s too early to talk about team colors after the first game, but we are pursuing fast basketball. There are some consolations from today’s (31st) game. We’ll have to adjust more in the future, but we saw some positive things.”
