“Ko Woo-seok to the U.S.? If it’s on a Mahayana level…”

“We wanted to find out how much he’s worth, and once we have a figure, we’ll agree with the player’s side and make a final decision.”

LG Twins’ Ko Woo-seok is challenging the American stage. He wants to be valued.

Earlier, the Major League Baseball (MLB) Secretariat requested to verify Go Woo-seok’s identity with Lee Jeong-hoo, and his agency asked LG to challenge the posting, and after much deliberation, LG granted permission for Go Woo-seok to post with the permission of owner Koo Kwang-mo.

As a result, LG President Cha Myung-seok was unintentionally thrust into the spotlight at the second round of the draft, which was held at The K Hotel in Yangjae-dong, Seoul on April 22.

Go Woo-seok’s posting doesn’t mean he’s headed to the United States. First, there must be a team that responds to the offer, 먹튀검증토토사이트 and the amount must be reasonable enough for LG and Koo to reach an agreement.

Starting with Lee Sang-hoon in 1997,

There are many cases of players such as Jin Pil-joong, Lim Chang-yong, Kim Kwang-hyun, Kim Jae-hwan, Na Sung-beom, etc. who either had no team respond to their postings or were frustrated by the amount of money. From LG’s perspective, this could be an opportunity to objectively determine Ko’s value.

Cha thinks the same. “The player himself said, ‘I want to join Post,’ and the club wanted to find out the value of Go Woo-seok after discussions,” he said. “If the player is satisfied with the amount, we will discuss it with the player’s side and make a final decision.”

“We haven’t decided what the so-called ‘reasonable amount’ will be yet. I think there will be a standard that many people will nod their heads at,” he said, adding, “I think the fans will know the standard that LG and Go Woo-seok have thought about well, and if the amount fits that, the club will decide on a grand level.”

Koo was drafted by LG in the first round in 2017.

While he didn’t meet the first-year free agent threshold (145 or more days with the first team), he racked up enough international mileage with appearances in the Premier12, Tokyo Olympics, World Baseball Classic (WBC), and Hangzhou Asian Games to be eligible for the overseas posting system after the 2023 season.

In 354 career appearances, he has a 19-26 record with 139 saves and six complete games with a 3.18 ERA. Last year, he won his first career save title (42 saves), but struggled this year, going 3-8 with a 3.68 ERA in 44 games after suffering an injury at the WBC. He also appeared in four games in the Korean Series, but went 1-1 with a 1.31 ERA and one save.

LG had five free agents on the market, but Seo Geon-chang waived his free agency rights and Oh Ji-hwan was set to become a free agent but signed a non-free agent extension beforehand.

The remaining free agents are pitcher Im Chan-kyu, Ham Deok-ju, and infielder Kim Min-sung. All are Class B free agents.

General manager Cha Myung-seok said, “My philosophy is that we need to grab our free agents. However, the market is fluctuating so much that I don’t know if it will actually happen, but it’s clear that we want to sign them,” he laughed.

“The players are resting, and we’re talking to their agents,” he added.
