Archery Kim Je-deok joins the last train of the men’s individual round of 16

Kim Je-deok (20? Yecheon County Office) is the last member of the Korean archery team to advance to the round of 16 of the individual event

at the 2024 Paris Olympics. On the morning of the 2nd (Korean time), Kim Je-deok achieved a 6-4 comeback victory over Federico Musolesi (Italy) in the round of 32 of the men’s individual archery event held at Les Invalides in Paris, France.

With this, Kim Je-deok, who was eliminated in the round of 32 at the Tokyo Olympics three years ago, will advance to the round of 16 of the individual Olympic event for the first time in his life. With Kim Je-deok’s advancement to the round of 16, all six members of the Korean archery team, both men and women, will advance to the round of 16 for the first time in 12 years since the 2012 London Olympics.

Originally, Kim Je-deok was scheduled to participate in the round of 64 the day before. However, due to bad weather, the match was postponed and he participated in the individual match a day later than scheduled.

Despite the unexpected schedule change, Kim Je-deok did not waver.

In the round of 64 against Yuan Lu (South Africa), Kim Je-deok displayed amazing performance by hitting 10 points with 7 out of 9 arrows.

In the first set of the round of 32, Kim Je-deok scored only 26 points and gave up 2 points first. However, he made 2 consecutive 10-point shots from the start of the second set to tie the score at 29-29, making up 1 point.
