Ansu Pati, touted as Messi’s heir apparent, has joined Brighton & Hove Albion on a one-year loan.
“We are delighted to announce the signing of Pati on loan from Barcelona,” the Seagulls said on their website on Monday.
Pati will spend one year in the Premier League on a simple loan with no outright transfer clause.
Pati is a Spanish forward born in 2002. He rose to prominence with Barcelona’s youth teams, making his professional debut at the age of 16.
However, a meniscus injury in the 2020-2021 season wiped out his entire season, and frequent injuries held him back the following season.
The highly anticipated Pati was unable to secure a regular starting spot and spent more time on the bench.
