Professional baseball KT Wiz signed a contract renewal with coach Lee Kang-cheol,
who led the team to second place in the regular season this season,

On the 11th, the KT club announced, “We have signed a contract with coach Lee Kang-cheol for a three-year contract period and a total of 2.4 billion won (down payment of 600 million won and annual salary of 600 million won).”
As a result, coach Lee Kang-cheol will lead KT until the 2026 season.
Coach Lee received higher treatment than SSG Landers coach Kim Won-hyung (3-year total salary of 2.2 billion won) and LG Twins coach Yeom Kyung-yeop (3-year total salary of 2.1 billion won).
Lee Kang-cheol enjoyed success wearing the KT uniform.
Coach Lee, who took office as KT’s third manager in 2019, became the club’s first team to surpass 70 wins and lead the team to a .500 win rate that year.
He rose to the ranks of great generals by leading the team to a comprehensive victory in the 2021 season.
In the 2022 season, he also led the team’s push into fall baseball.
This season, the final year of his contract renewal, looked difficult.
