Steph Curry poured in 42 points, including 11 3-pointers, to lead the National Basketball Association (NBA) Golden State Warriors to their third straight victory.
The Warriors defeated the Indiana Pacers, 131-109, on Monday night (Jan. 9) in a 2023-2024 NBA regular-season road game at Gainesville Fieldhouse in Gainesville, Indiana, USA.
Golden State improved to 24-25, good for 11th place in the Western Conference. Indiana, which saw its winning streak come to an end, is 29-24 and in sixth place in the 텍사스홀덤사이트 Eastern Conference.
Curry got off to a hot start in the first quarter, cracking the rim six times from three-point range alone for 18 points, and the Warriors led 45-34 at the end of the first quarter behind Curry’s performance.
The second quarter saw both teams trade baskets, with Golden State taking a 12-point lead at the half, 70-58.
The Warriors held Indiana to 36.8 percent field goal shooting in the third quarter, with Curry, Jonathon Cuminga, Draymond Green, and Brandin Podzimski all scoring in double figures.
In the fourth quarter, with a 20-point lead at 95-76, Curry added a pair of three-pointers and the Warriors pulled away from Indiana with ease to secure their third straight win.
Golden State’s Kuminga paced Curry with 18 points. Indiana had six players score in double figures, including shooting guard Pascal Siakam (16 points), Myles Turner (15 points) and Jaylen Smith (14 points), but were overshadowed by Curry’s one-man show.
The Denver Nuggets defeated the Los Angeles Lakers 114-106 on the road to extend their winning streak to three games. With a 36-16 record, Denver moved into a tie for second place in the Western Conference with the first-place Minnesota Timberwolves. The Lakers dropped to 27-26 and remain in a tie for ninth place in the Western Conference.
Denver was led by the trio of Jermale Murray (29 points, 11 assists), Michael Porter Jr. (27 points, 8 rebounds), and Nikola Jokic (24 points, 13 rebounds).
Denver, which finished the first half with a 59-49 lead, was chased in the third quarter by the Lakers’ LeBron James and Anthony Davis, who each scored 11 points.
Entering the fourth quarter with an 83-79 lead, the Nuggets were in trouble after giving up a 100-100 tie on two free throws by James with 3:33 left in regulation, but Murray’s three-pointer with 1:56 left in regulation saved the day.
He then scored five straight points, capped by a dunk off a Michael Porter Jr. layup with 1:05 left in regulation, to put the game out of reach. The Lakers were led by Davis with 32 points and nine rebounds and James with 25 points, nine rebounds and seven assists.
