Atlanta in crisis… All but Young and Johnson have been placed on waivers

It looks like Atlanta has decided to rebuild.

“The Atlanta Hawks have decided to sell players in the trade market,” said local US media outlet Bleacher Report on July 7 (KST). Except for Trae Young and Jaylen Johnson, all players have been placed on the transfer list.”

Atlanta has struggled this season. They currently sit in 11th place in the Eastern Conference with a 14-20 record. At this point, they’re not even in the playoffs, let alone the play-in tournament.

The problem is, there’s no obvious solution in sight. 토토사이트 Atlanta has no obvious injuries. It’s safe to say they’re at full strength right now. However, the team is not playing consistently well.

Atlanta ambitiously acquired Dejounte Murray in a trade ahead of the 2022-2023 season, but as feared, he hasn’t been able to coexist with Young at all. Add to that the fact that the defense continues to be an issue.

You’d think Atlanta’s brass wouldn’t have a solution in sight.

Nonetheless, the development of third-year prospect Jaylen Johnson has been a bright spot. Johnson is averaging 15.1 points and 8.1 rebounds this season and has completely broken out of the egg. His impact is not only on offense, but also on defense. Atlanta is on a downward spiral, but adding Johnson to their core is a big deal.

The calculation is to rebuild around Johnson and Young. The Hawks have a lot to offer outside of those two players.

Murray, Bogdan Bogdanovic, and Clint Capela are a few examples.

Murray may not have the best chemistry with Young, but he’s an average 20+ point scorer and good defender. Teams that are short on guard talent could find him very attractive.

Bogdanovic is a swingman who is averaging 17.7 points and 2.8 assists this season. Coming off the bench, Bogdanovic is the favorite for Sixth Man of the Year honors this season. One scorer is a powerful player. Teams looking to bolster their bench scoring will find him very attractive.

Capela is also a good player. Capela is a player who can easily average a double-double. He’s already averaging a double-double this season, averaging 12 points and 10.7 rebounds. Teams that are weak on the perimeter will want to target him heavily.

If Atlanta is rebuilding as heavily as reported, it could be a game-changer. The aforementioned players are all capable of playing on a championship contender. Let’s see what Atlanta does.
